About The Position

Park Nicollet is seeking an experienced NP/PA to join our well-established and expanding department. The position will be based in the ICU at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) for Intensive Care provides critical care management of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in collaboration with the staff intensivist consistent with Minnesota licensure and institutional privileges. The APC independently performs comprehensive medical assessments, formulates, implements and adjusts management plans, including diagnostic ordering of tests, medication and infusion management, mechanical ventilator management, performs credentialed bedside procedures, and responds to acute clinical deterioration and in unit codes. The APC will provide day-to-day work coordination and continuity of care for patients and the multidisciplinary team, develop a daily work plan matching patient acuity to available resources, and communicate transfer/discharge plans of care to the patients, family members, and receiving teams. The APC may also participate in education, quality improvement, and research initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in inpatient setting is required.
  • Minnesota licensure

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience providing inpatient care, preferably in an intensive care unit, emergency department, or hospital medicine.
