About The Position

OSF HealthCare is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing, high-volume General Surgery department to support inpatient and clinical operations. Responsibilities include pre-op evaluations and preparation for surgery, post-op patient management, discharge planning, and transitions of care. The provider will evaluate and manage routine and complex post-op issues, including wound care, pain management, and medication adjustments. They will also order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and specialty consultations. Coordination of care with surgeons, nursing staff, case management, rehabilitation services, and consulting specialties is essential to ensure comprehensive patient care. This role provides inpatient and outpatient clinical support, including patient follow-up visits and education. The schedule consists of 8-hour day shifts.

Requirements

• Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987.
• Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
• BLS/ACLS Certified.
• Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
• Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
• Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) is required for APNs.

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of surgery or critical care experience preferred.

• Full-time, clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $60.39-$68.10. This position is paid hourly.
