About The Position

Intermountain Health is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for its Division of Breast Surgical Oncology. The APP will join a growing team focused on quality care and patient experience, helping build a service-oriented breast surgery program across Salt Lake County. The role provides mentorship and training, including required training in breast-specific care; prior breast-specific experience is not required. This hands-on role combines operating room experience, perioperative care, and outpatient clinic work, primarily caring for patients with benign breast disease, elevated breast cancer risk, or breast cancer. The position is based at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City and Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, with possible coverage at other regional locations. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with an estimated 1–2 inpatient days and 2–3 outpatient clinic days each week. Responsibilities rotate among the operating room, pre- and post-operative care, and outpatient clinic work.

Requirements

APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program.
AANP, ANCC, or AAPA certification.
Active, unobstructed Utah license, or the ability to obtain one.
BLS and ACLS certification and DEA.
Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process.

Nice To Haves

Previous surgical and hospital experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide care to patients with benign breast disease, elevated breast cancer risk, or breast cancer.
Participate in operating room work.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
Provide outpatient clinic care.
Rotate among operating room, perioperative care, and outpatient clinic responsibilities.
Complete required breast-specific care training.
Provide coverage at other locations across the region as needed.
