The Cardiothoracic Surgery APP is responsible for providing medical, surgical, and postoperative management for Cardiothoracic Surgery patients referred to the clinic and within the hospital setting. The Cardiothoracic Surgery APP will work in collaboration with other medical specialties to assess and manage patients following established standards and practices. The work schedule is full-time, requiring a minimum of 172 clinical shifts per year, which will include hospital rounding, surgical assisting, and scheduled clinic visits with charting and other necessary duties. A shift consists of a combination of hospital CT service rounding, consult and discharge coordination, OR/procedural assisting, and outpatient clinic urgent/emergent surgical case responsibility and call. The APP will participate in the cardiothoracic surgery APP call rotation, with a call burden of 1:3. Cardiothoracic APP call provides first-line overnight support off-site for patients admitted to the Cardiothoracic Surgery service, outpatient after-hours calls, and urgent/emergent surgical assisting when activated within the facility’s on-site response time. The primary clinic work location is St. Charles Bend Hospital with the clinic in the Bend Heart & Lung Center.
