The Role: In this dynamic Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic, you will be an essential member of a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered behavioral health care. Your work will combine clinical autonomy with close collaboration, allowing you to practice at the top of your license while contributing to a cohesive care model. On a typical day, you will: Provide individual and family psychotherapy to children and adolescents with a wide range of behavioral health conditions Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Partner with psychiatrists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes Participate in integrated care delivery, ensuring behavioral health is aligned with the broader clinical picture Engage and support families through education, counseling, and resource navigation, recognizing their critical role in care continuity Maintain thorough and timely documentation within a structured clinical environment This role offers a balanced mix of clinical complexity and continuity, enabling you to build meaningful therapeutic relationships while addressing diverse psychiatric needs in a collaborative setting. Advanced Practice Provider Scope of Practice: Clinical Provides expert evidence-based, top-of-scope care in their clinical practice Acts as part of a specialty team, collaborating with other clinicians as appropriate Provides health education to patients Mains accurate, timely, and thorough documentation Ensures compliance with institutional and regulatory standards Leadership Supports development of best practices and protocols in specialty Serves on committees and workgroups to enhance patient care Provides education to learners in the clinical space Mentors new team members Administration Contributes to clinical quality improvement work Participates in professional governance through the APP Council Attends team development meetings at local and departmental levels Professional Adheres to ASPIRE values in all professional interactions Mains appropriate licenses, certifications, and specialty training competencies Participates in local, state, and national professional organizations https://app.uvahs.org/ Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program required
  • 3 years’ experience post master’s required
  • Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire date.
