About The Position

The Advanced Practice Nurse will assist the collaborative physician with clinic patients, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures, assist in the procedural room, and answer calls on daily basis for the Interventional Pain subspecialty for evaluation, treatment, and procedures for the Interventional pain patient population. The APRN will be responsible for managing care of outpatients independently or with the physician, answering telephone inquiries and filling prescriptions and performing injections. Nurse must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Current AR Advanced Practice License
  • Current AR Registered Nurse License
  • Current Prescriptive Authority and DEA license, or the ability to obtain after hire.
  • Current ACLS or ability to obtain after hire.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the collaborative physician with clinic patients, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures.
  • Assist in the procedural room.
  • Answer calls on daily basis for the Interventional Pain subspecialty for evaluation, treatment, and procedures for the Interventional pain patient population.
  • Manage care of outpatients independently or with the physician.
  • Answer telephone inquiries and fill prescriptions.
  • Perform injections.
  • Perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients.
  • Assess patients: Take medical histories, perform physical exams, and evaluate symptoms.
  • Diagnose conditions: Identify illnesses, injuries, or chronic diseases.
  • Develop treatment plans: Create and manage care plans tailored to each patient.
  • Prescribe medications (in most states, including Arkansas, with some collaboration requirements).
  • Order and interpret tests: Labs, X-rays, MRIs, etc.
  • Provide primary or specialized care depending on their role.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed.
  • Educate patients about health conditions, medications, and preventive care.
  • Promote wellness through screenings and lifestyle counseling.
  • Work with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate care.
  • Supervise or mentor nurses and support staff (in some settings).
  • Participate in care planning meetings and case reviews.
  • Maintain accurate medical records.
  • Follow healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Engage in continuing education to stay current in the field.
  • Some APRNs may also conduct research or help improve healthcare systems.
