About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for clinic patients. This role operates in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and nursing standards of care, encompassing assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of a plan of care and treatment, implementation of the treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status. Clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members, and the scope of practice is established by a protocol with a licensed medical doctor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) Licensure
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Frequent travel is required, often up to several hours of driving per day.
  • Ability to travel to, attend, and conduct sales presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Family Medicine, preferred
  • Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred

Responsibilities

  • Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for clinic patients
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.
  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
  • Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools and patient engagement
