About The Position

Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, experienced Advanced Practice Nursing Specialist to join our Emergency Department team across Health Partners System. The Advanced Practice Nurse Specialist is a clinical leader such as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (CNP). This advanced nursing practice role is focused on influencing patient care, nursing practice and organizational change. This role attends to the needs of patients in a particular population wherever they may present along the continuum of care. This role coordinates complex patient care, evaluates patient care outcomes, utilizes, and conducts clinical research, provides professional consultation, and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. This role also develops tools (e.g., critical pathways, order sets, guidelines, protocols, and policies) which facilitate care rendered by others in basic practice. This role embeds evidence into clinical practice, leads committees and workgroups in quality improvement, and provides innovative solutions throughout the system. This role supports regulatory, quality improvement, nursing practice, standards of care and focuses across all 8 hospitals. This role contributes to value-based purchasing, creates processes and standards for reducing patient falls, work place violence, ED through put, sepsis mortality, ECMO.

Requirements

  • For areas with an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specialty certification available: master’s degree or higher in nursing and completion of required education prerequisites to be licensed as an APRN, or completion within 3 years of date of hire.
  • For areas without an APRN specialty certification: DNP or completion within 3 years of date of hire.
  • Three (3) years (6240 hours) clinical staff nursing in acute care.
  • Active RN License in MN or WI required at time of hire. After hire, RN must obtain licensure in the other state, and this process must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
  • Licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse in MN.
  • Wisconsin licensure in advanced practice to be discussed at hire based on role
  • Certified by a national nurse certification organization acceptable to the Minnesota or Wisconsin Board of Nursing (CNS, NP, CNM) where specialty certification is available
  • Maintain specialty certification as appropriate to the patient population served.
  • CPR certification (American Heart BLS for Healthcare Providers)
