Advanced Patient Care Technician
About The Position
The Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers compassionate, patient-centered care under the guidance of a registered nurse. The role includes performing advanced clinical tasks and helping create a safe, welcoming environment where patients and families feel valued and respected. The technician observes patients, documents changes, and communicates them to the nursing team; assists with activities of daily living; provides specified advanced care; and supports clinical and clerical tasks that help care run smoothly. This position is at St. Mark's Hospital, a 308-plus-bed hospital serving Salt Lake City and surrounding communities. No travel is required. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date, and six months of experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Observe patients, document changes, and communicate those changes to the nursing team.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, including eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely.
- Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removal of IV lines and catheters, and wound care.
- Collect laboratory samples and assist with clerical duties to support care delivery.
- Anticipate patient needs, respond promptly, and help provide a seamless, compassionate experience.
