About The Position

The Advanced Operator Lap & Test supports and sets up all machines in the Machine Centers area. The role includes coordinating customer and supplier containment activities, setting up two technologies within established time-study limits, creating and installing CNC programs, coordinating setups using the department schedule, and participating in machine runoffs. The operator also supports department maintenance, quality assurance, continuous improvement, budgeting, and new-product launches. Depending on applicability, responsibilities may include identifying machining processes and speeds and feeds, contributing to equipment design, and addressing recurring failures through analysis and corrective actions. The position may lead sorting activities in-house or at customer locations and lead problem-solving teams. The posting identifies 1st and 3rd shifts. Requirements

High school diploma or GED with courses in industrial or mechanical technologies, industrial maintenance, or post-secondary technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and on-the-job experience.
Three to five years of experience in machine technology/operations and routine maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate customer and supplier activities, including containment.
Set up two technologies within established time-study limits.
Create and install CNC programs.
Coordinate setup activities using the department schedule.
Participate in machine runoffs.
Coordinate departmental maintenance activities, including maintenance open work orders.
Perform routine maintenance tasks.
Develop plans and drive improvements to achieve budget targets (CIMS).
Participate in the budgeting process.
Participate in program and cell launches of new products and prototypes.
Lead and participate in continuous-improvement processes, and plan and implement corrective actions.
Lead cell quality process assurance.
Act on improvement-suggestion ideas.
Help define autonomous maintenance activities, including daily pre-operational inspections.
Identify ways to enhance and share team knowledge through communication.
Contribute to designing and implementing poka-yoke.
Contribute to equipment design, if applicable.
Identify appropriate machining processes, speeds, and feeds for jobs, if applicable.
Identify repetitive failures and implement corrective actions based on failure analyses, if applicable.
Lead sorting activities in-house or at customer locations.
Troubleshoot and solve maintenance-repair problems.
Lead a problem-solving team.
