Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship.
• Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on specific purchase product which will involve working on ongoing project deliverables, Robotic projects
• Work on engineering projects related to development of new products, including human factors engineering, risk management, application of statistics, reliability engineering, design verification, and design validation including customer interaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product sustainment, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for non-conforming issues.
• Work with a variety of tools including CAD for fixture design, root cause analysis methods, LabView, and validation activities to optimize production, inspection, and quality system processes.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure components and their manufacturing processes meet required standards, utilizing technical background and communication skills.
• Work closely with internal customers from multiple functions, meeting with suppliers frequently, and using both technical and business skills.
• Work with internal cross-functional teams and external sales team and customers to ensure development and sustainment of high-quality products.
• Evaluate risk, ensure customer user needs are met, and help drive craftsmanship, safety, durability and reliability into the product.
• Handle complaints and implement design changes, as needed, to address quality issues on the post-market side.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify the needs and goals of future products, researching new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements and regulations.
• Work with a variety of tools, including CAD, FEA, and Test Labs to develop new product concepts.
• Design new products and drive them from concept to production.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify needs for improvements on current products, researching new technologies, customer feedback, and product performance data.
• Work with a variety of tools, including CAD, FEA, Test Labs, and root cause analysis methods.
• Improve the safety and efficacy of existing products.
• Partner closely with Test Engineers and R&D to experiment with early prototypes and vet out product designs throughout the design process.
• Design and build fixtures to simulate real-life situations.
• Perform design verification – the quantitative testing of the technical specifications of the product.
• Collaborate with Design and Operations to deliver best-in-class new products to market.
• Partner with technicians and engineers to improve manufacturing lines through new fixture development, assembly line process enhancement, implementation of lean manufacturing principles, and improving ergonomics and safety.
