About The Position

Vermeer is seeking an engineering intern who wants to engage with operations team members, equipment, and data to help drive improvements in manufacturing. This role involves working with a team of engineers and engineering technicians to help drive production improvements. The intern will have the opportunity to complete an interview and assessment to match their strengths and aptitude to areas such as machine shop, welding, weld robotics, paint, assembly engineering, and systems/data teams. They will learn and understand jobs from the operators' perspective to identify potential improvements to existing processes and equipment. The role also includes working with a team on the implementation of equipment into manufacturing, determining manufacturing data for improvement, and contributing to research and development of future equipment, processes, and data.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Desire to dig in and understand the technical details of manufacturing processes including safety, process capability, manufacturing data, capacity planning, and manufacturing flow.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience implementing manufacturing equipment, making parts out of steel in manufacturing, continuous improvement, capital justification, managing capital projects, technology transfer, and supporting existing manufacturing cells, preferred but not required.
• Previous internship is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities
