About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a manufacturing engineer intern who can creatively apply engineering knowledge to efficiently solve complex manufacturing problems and make sound and rationale data oriented technical conclusions for the manufacture of electrical/mechanical pressure sensing devices. You will interface with other manufacturing engineers, production leaders, maintenance, purchasing, quality, production operators, design engineers and program management. This is an onsite role that will put you right were the action is!

Requirements

Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Experience in Solid Works or Creo
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite software
Prior experience with designing and analyzing experiments
Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

Learn the operation and programming of all assigned equipment.
Become proficient on manufacturing software such as SAP and Creo.
Learn to use the appropriate metrology tools required by assigned processes.

Responsibilities

Maintain production documentation on each process, including manufacturing documents and production process routings.
Develop and implement cost savings projects, new technology, new materials, new products and processes.
Reduce scrap, rework and repair.
Become proficient identifying common defects and issues for assigned processes and learn the proper mitigations for those defects and issues.
Provide recommendations on process efficiency, safety, production flow and sequencing of operations.
