About The Position

As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will develop sophisticated mechanical designs using advanced mechanical engineering principles and design tools to create reliable, efficient, and high-quality mechanical systems and components. The role contributes to next-generation mechanical solutions and Honeywell Aerospace’s technology and innovation goals.

You will lead and execute mechanical design projects for test equipment and test fixtures supporting development, qualification, and production. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to define complex mechanical requirements and develop innovative solutions. The role includes people-leadership responsibilities such as recruiting and developing talent, identifying successors, supporting retention and engagement, and fostering an inclusive culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• At least 4 years of experience in mechanical design and development, focused on advanced mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, methodologies, and best practices for complex systems.
• Proficiency with CAD software and mechanical analysis or simulation tools to develop and validate designs.
• Experience with materials selection, manufacturing processes, and product testing to ensure design feasibility and reliability.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations: a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or person with protected status under asylum or refugee status.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency specifically in NX CAD software.
• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (MS or PhD).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies in mechanical design.
• Familiarity with digital design tools and integration with cross-functional product development teams.
