About The Position

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer 1, you will lead process development of new products aimed at treating vascular diseases, ensuring that manufacturing processes meet product and project requirements, as well as identifying and recommending solutions for complex technical issues. Activities include process technology development, pilot line development, prototyping, manufacturing transfers from site to site, and contributing to technical team meetings regarding these topics.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience with Vocational Education in product/process development in the medical devices or regulated industry, preferably with experience with stents, catheters, or delivery systems.
  • No prior experience required with bachelor's degree.
  • Change Management
  • Proficiency with FDA QSR/cGMP and ISO13485 requirements
  • Demonstrated use of DFSS tools (DOE, problem solving)
  • Proven ability with design for manufacturing, assembly, and testability
  • Project management
  • Coaching / mentoring junior engineers
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering OR Vocational Education in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • Effective communicator with the ability of building rapport and executing within a complex matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Initiating, leading, and executing on new product industrialization activities including equipment selection, process development, process characterization and process validation, in support of new product development as well as design changes.
  • Design for manufacturing, equipment, and labor capacity planning as well as Manufacturing input focusing on Design for Manufacturability, Reliability, Serviceability.
  • Driving key performance indicators such as Cost of Goods, Yield, Output and Quality throughout projects and into commercialization.
  • Providing in-depth knowledge for problem solving linked to Manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Supporting internal manufacturing, external manufacturing, and site to site manufacturing transfer projects.
