About The Position

We are hiring an Advanced Machinist Technician in Scottsdale, AZ, to support precision manufacturing and machining operations for advanced defense and aerospace systems. This role requires experience with manual machining equipment, precision measurement tools, engineering drawings, CAD models, SPC, metal fabrication, and production manufacturing processes supporting mission-critical hardware and mechanical assemblies.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of machining or manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD designs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience operating manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as: Calipers, Micrometers, Gauges
  • Familiarity with machine setup, operational adjustment, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Basic computer skills, supporting documentation, and machine interfaces.
  • Experience using mechanical hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to work onsite in a production and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and safely operate machinery.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certificate in Machining, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
  • Exposure to automation technologies or AI-enabled manufacturing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute precision machining operations by cutting, shaping, and forming metal components to required engineering tolerances.
  • Operate machining equipment, including: Lathes, Mills, Drill presses, Routers, Grinders, Brakes, Shears, Saws
  • Set up machining equipment, make operational adjustments, and perform basic preventative maintenance activities.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, process sheets, and technical sketches to complete manufacturing tasks.
  • Use gauges, jigs, fixtures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain manufacturing quality using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and related quality methodologies.
  • Operate light-duty bench and floor equipment, including: Punch presses, Extruding machines, Power tools
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and manufacturing work instructions under general supervision.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production and machining environment.
