Reporting to the Supervisor Operational Technology Support, the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Engineer is responsible for providing technical lead to the Operations section in the monitoring, assessment, and analysis of SCADA System modeling. You will be responsible for maintaining the Advanced Distribution Management System and interfaces to various Power Systems Operational Technology. You will be required to develop and maintain applications and displays used by Transmission and Distribution Operations. ADMS Engineer must have knowledge and experience specifying, designing, programming, configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting Advanced Distribution Management Systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineering Designation through A.P.E.G.A. is required.
  • Knowledge of electrical transmission, distribution systems, and distribution electrical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA/ADMS/EMS systems (OSI/AspenTech preferred).
  • Knowledge of CYME, Hexagon GIS, and OMS programs.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS integration, network modelling, and data maintenance processes.
  • Understanding of IT/OT connectivity, networking fundamentals, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Knowledge of Python and relevant programing languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience coordinating technical workstreams or guiding teams.
  • Good interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments.
  • Ability to work on projects with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to authenticate own work and QA others’ work.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 - 10 years of experience working in an Electrical Utility Industry and/or in a control room real time operation environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical workstreams within the ADMS program, acting as a contributor for engineering, system architecture, and integration activities.
  • Support configuration, testing, and deployment of OSI ADMS, including OMS and advanced ADMS applications.
  • Provide technical depth in Power Flow, Advanced Applications, and FLISR, ensuring proper configuration, data readiness, and performance optimization.
  • Work closely with SCADA, GIS, IT/OT, and field engineering teams to ensure end-to-end system readiness.
  • Support OMS application maintenance, including outage analytics, restoration workflows, switching support, and validation of outage model and logic.
  • Oversee and validate ADMS integrations, with strong focus on GIS data alignment, network modeling, and data flows.
  • Ensure IT/OT connection requirements, cybersecurity considerations, and architecture standards are followed.
  • Coordinating with internal, vendor, and engineering partners.
  • Balance/prioritize between real-time support, operational enhancements, ADMS program execution, and other business initiatives relying on ADMS.
  • Support technical reviews, test plans, documentation, and issue resolution across the ADMS lifecycle.
  • Compile and review operation and business requirements to support the development of project specifications.
  • Participate in system analysis including manual calculations, and preparation of study reports.
  • Complete projects assigned, including the management of schedule and quality.
