About The Position

This is not an active open requisition; we are building a candidate slate for a future opening. The Advanced Clinical Expert is accountable for providing educational and clinical support to the field in response to the most complex inquiries from physicians, health care professionals, patients, and sales staff. This role performs work that involves a high degree of independence and is reviewed upon milestones and completion for soundness of judgment and adequacy/accuracy. Contributions affect team/organization results. The role resolves difficult problems using intellectual capabilities, ingenuity, and advanced scientific principles, completes reports, makes oral presentations, and consistently uses independent judgment. May contribute to the development of department policies/procedures/practices.

Requirements

• Inpatient and/or outpatient Heart failure program experience with advanced practice degree such as NP, CNS, or PA.
• Clinical background: APP with two plus years of Heart Failure and/or Cardiovascular experience; RN with two plus years of Heart Failure experience.
• Able to communicate effectively and work within a team environment.
• Overnight travel 50%.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required.
• 5 years or more relevant working experience required.
• Working in a team-selling environment.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical background: Advanced Practitioner such as CNS, NP, PA, with Heart Failure and/or Cardiovascular experience in the Acute or outpatient setting.
• Experience in project management, performance improvement, and process improvement across hospital’s or IDN’s also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate customers on best practice CardioMEMS and Merlin.net workflows within targeted strategic, enterprise accounts, and IDNs.
• Proactively manage key partner relationships to strengthen overall solution capabilities and drive greater client value and CardioMEMS program adoption.
• Analyze Market Dynamics to identify greatest needs and opportunities.
• Build and sustain credible business relationships with customers and share product expertise accordingly.
• Provide technical, sales, education, and clinical support in response to the most complex field inquiries.
• Demonstrate a thorough command of all HF products, related product and technical knowledge, trends, and players.
• Provide provider/facility adoption direction, system training, workflow development, test planning support, and communications support to the client and implementation team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Training and Development to provide feedback for improved customer experience and optimize implementation processes.
• Act as Advanced Clinical Expert internally within defined targeted accounts and within the Abbott HF organization.
• Develop, lead, and/or facilitate trainings and other programs on HF products to healthcare professionals.
• Remain current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, and maintain a good working knowledge of company and competitor products, markets, and objectives as well as industry trends.
• Identify at-risk accounts to Technical Services and to the appropriate Territory Manager/Regional Sales Director and recommend strategies and suggestions to retain such accounts.
• Provide implementation opportunity forecasting and update account/opportunity detail to Manager and Salesforce CRM System.
• May functionally direct and mentor new hire staff within the organization.
• Attend and participate in company and professional meetings, including conference and webinar calls.
• Understand administrative reporting responsibilities and maintain and submit accurate and timely reports.
• Maintain and manage time, travel, and expenses within set corporate guidelines and policies using best practices as directed by the National Director of Field Implementation Services and Abbott.
• Competent in computer operation including Microsoft WORD, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
