About The Position

Medavie Health Services West (MHSW) is seeking to fill up to 2 permanent full-time Advanced Care Paramedic positions. MHSW is a subsidiary of Medavie Health Services, responsible for operating and managing an integrated, service-led primary health care organization. Medavie Health Services West (MHS West) Crestvue provides emergency and medical services to Yorkton, Saskatchewan, focusing on innovative EMS solutions and high-quality patient care. Crestvue has been serving the community since 1973, offering basic and advanced life support services. Yorkton is a city of approximately 20,000 people in east-central Saskatchewan, offering excellent education, public services, and healthcare, including a major regional hospital. Crestvue has an annual call volume of 4000 and serves a peak catchment of 50,000 people. Requirements

• Must meet all legislated requirements for an Advanced Care Paramedics in Saskatchewan.
• Must be currently registered with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics as an Advanced Care Paramedic or eligible for registration through the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.
• Candidates must be authorized to practice as an Advanced Care Paramedic, hold an unrestricted license, and be able to perform the full scope of duties associated with the position.
• Must be in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.
• Must have a high regard for confidentiality.
• Must have excellent work habits and exhibit professionalism.
• Ability to provide proof of successful completion of the Physical Ability Test (PAT) within the past 12 months.
• A copy (front and back) of a valid Saskatchewan Class 4 Driver's License (or equivalent).
• A current ITLS and CPR C for Health Care Providers.
• A Current ACLS and PALS Certificate.
• A current (within last 60 days) valid and clean criminal record check.
• A current (within last 30 days) driver’s abstract.
• A current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Independent primary clinical care.
• Safe transportation of individuals, including emergency and non-emergency responses, as well as inter-facility transfers.
• Maintain and operate ambulances and related equipment in accordance with patient needs and public safety.
• Clinical expectations and responsibilities for Advanced Care Paramedics are based on the current National Occupational Competency Profile (NOCP) and the Canadian Paramedic Competency Framework (CPCF), Saskatchewan College of Paramedics standards, and the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics registration requirements and Medavie Health Services West policies, procedures, and protocols.
