Requirements

Applicants must be registered with the Emergency Medical Assistance licensing board and be a member in good standing.
Must possess a Provincially approved current CPR/AED/First Aid at the Health Care Provider level.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Proficient in the handling of emergency situations.
Knowledge of medical record keeping requirements in accordance with standards of professional practice, applicable governmental regulations, and HSE requirements.
Knowledge of basic HSE programs and measures for the prevention of illnesses and injuries.
Proficiency and experience in interpreting and evaluating regulatory safety standards where applicable to health regulations.
Knowledge of and experience with data management systems and computer hardware/software.
Skilled in the handling of emergency situations and decision making.
Knowledge of and experience in organizational and medical management and the principles and methodologies involved in medical practices.
Skills in verbal and written communication.

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to safety construction experience in ICI buildings.
Knowledge of current occupational health practices and applicable legislation is desirable.

Responsibilities

Manages the onsite health care service provided to employees and subcontractors.
Manages and oversees the evaluation and treatment of employees with injuries and/or illnesses and referral to a physician or hospital, and subsequent follow-up treatment.
Follows-up on emergency hospital cases keeping the Claims Management, Site HSE team, project management, and the Regional HSE Director apprised of the status of patients.
Maintains confidential medical records in secure fireproof cabinets.
Assists in planning emergency evacuation procedures in conjunction with the site HSE coordinator and project management team.
Implements project medical database to support the reporting and follow up of injuries/illnesses managed by the on-site medical staff.
