About The Position

Adult Day Services Aides assist participants with activities of daily living and personal care needs per their individual program plan, encourage social integration and independence, and provide services within the facility as well as in the community.

Requirements

  • Be able to work with adults who have disabilities while being positive, supportive, empathetic, and encouraging at all times
  • Be able to work independently and unsupervised
  • Follow guidelines per DPI contract including menu standards and documentation requirements
  • CNA Certified
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • CBRF Medication Administration Certified
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Supervise participants for safety at all times – this includes in the facilities, outside the facility, on the grounds of the CCRLC, and in the community
  • Provide proper attention and services in an emergency – this includes applying First Aid and CPR as needed as well as making important decisions where the outcome of that decision may directly effect a participant’s health and well being
  • Monitor participants for seizure activity and provide safety and medication administration per their plan of care in case of seizure activity
  • Administer medications per doctor’s orders
  • Perform all personal cares as assigned
  • Complete intense specialized cares per doctor’s orders (including tube feedings, etc.)
  • Perform physical assistance with transfers, repositioning, ambulating
  • Facilitate open and positive communication with co-workers and supervisors as well as other team members
  • Assure that all residents’ rights are maintained at all times
  • Observe physical, behavioral, and emotional changes in the participants and report those changes to the Coordinator or his/her replacement
  • Handle behavioral incidents in a way that diminishes the issues and keeps all participants safe
  • Follow the individual service needs of each participant as requested by guardians and case managers
  • Make and serve snacks and meals as requested
  • Provide transportation to and from the facility as well as for community integration
  • Provide assistance with and document all prevocational work completed
  • Adhere to privacy practices
  • Report and document participant progress or other required information
  • Document participant attendance on a daily basis
  • Follow the monthly activity schedule
  • Conduct group activities such as exercise, discussions, work groups, etc.
  • Attend departmental meetings, seminars as requested and mandatory in-service trainings
  • Conduct ROM and walking programs
  • Teach the participants daily in the area of healthy choices including in relationships, eating habits, emergency plans, etc.
  • Assist with activities of daily living
  • Coordinate community integration
