About The Position

This position plays an integral part in keeping vulnerable Oklahoma adults safe. In this position, you will receive and investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. You will determine the capacity and provide voluntary or involuntary services based on needs, and you'll coordinate service plans, prepare legal forms, attend court hearings, and provide testimony as necessary.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in any field is required for Level I.
  • For Level II, applicant may either have a master’s degree OR a bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in professional social work.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must maintain required car insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Determine capacity and provide voluntary or involuntary services based on needs.
  • Coordinate service plans.
  • Prepare legal forms.
  • Attend court hearings and provide testimony as necessary.
  • Conduct prompt and thorough APS investigations of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
  • Conduct assessments of risk, needs and capacity of vulnerable adults.
  • Offer protective services and write customer centered service plans.
  • Interview vulnerable adults, alleged perpetrators and collaterals via phone and in person.
  • Document all case data including complete interviews with vulnerable adults and other collaterals.
  • Prepare cases for court when identified for involuntary services including participation in courtroom activities.
  • Provide testimony in court regarding protective services or by subpoena.
  • Develop community and internal partners for service delivery.
  • Staff case situations with APSS District Director in the absence of the APSS IV and APSS III or when in charge of the team/unit.
  • Staff cases at specific points in process.
  • Staff cases for potential involuntary services with APSSIII, IV and/or legal representation.
  • Communicate with other management in regard to case activities and decisions.
  • Serve on committees and panels for internal and external partnerships.
  • Provide training and presentations to internal and external partnerships.
