As an Adult Protective Caseworker, you will perform professional social work for incapacitated and dependent adults. This includes Adult Protective Services Investigations of abuse, neglect and exploitation, guardianship studies and assessing for capacity to make decisions. You will assess the need for public guardianship, complete and file petitions, and testify in Court as necessary. You will also identify and arrange for support services. Your workload will include performing APS investigations in a timely manner, which involves interviewing clients, alleged perpetrators, and collateral contacts, and requesting and reviewing records as necessary. You will document all investigation activities in the form of case notes, advocate for and coordinate the provision of services, and maintain accurate case records of activities, including writing summaries, reports, letters, and memos. You will exercise discretion in decision-making while carrying out investigation activities.
