Start your career in public service. The DHS’ Division of Aging Services (DAS) is seeking candidates to fill the position of Adult Protective Services Case Manager Supervisor (APS Supervisor). This position is located in Savannah, Chatham County and will cover the following additional counties of Effingham. Travel is expected throughout the counties listed as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years case management experience; OR Two (2) years of experience at lower level Adult Protective Services Case Manager 3 (SSP172) or position equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively with personnel at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while effectively and accurately managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and make presentations on behalf of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, DAS Data Systems, etc.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and consistent access to a vehicle for required work-related activities.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years experience in Adult Protective Services
  • Experience working with a specific issue facing client populations such as family violence, crisis intervention, substance abuse, services to the elderly or disabled.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services program

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff through coordinating and planning.
  • Evaluates the level of risk to clients and takes appropriate action to ensure safety.
  • Monitors and organizes work to ensure quality and adherence.
  • Reviews, approves/disapproves and/or renders decisions.
  • Maintains and shares knowledge.
  • Ensures accurate, timely records and reports.
