About The Position

The Adult Crisis Unit clinician conducts intake assessments for new crisis clients, including behavioral health and safety assessments, suicide/self-harm risk evaluations, effective written and verbal communication, and group facilitation. River Edge Behavioral Health serves over 10,000 Georgians, offering comprehensive mental health, substance use disorder treatments, and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization, medication maintenance, crisis intervention, awareness, education, and recovery groups.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social service field (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Services) or related field
  • Must have Associate License or Fully Licensed in either - LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LMFT, LPC, LCSW)
  • Experience working in mental health, behavioral health, or a crisis stabilization setting
  • Experience with trauma-informed care
  • Demonstrate knowledge and expertise with the chronically mentally ill population.
  • All applicants must pass an intensive background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Demonstrate expertise and knowledge in mental health and substance abuse services and community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments for incoming crisis clients.
  • Complete Behavioral Health Assessments (BHA).
  • Conduct comprehensive safety assessments.
  • Assess clients for suicide and self-harm risk.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Facilitate therapeutic and educational groups.
