About The Position

Kramer School of Nursing invites applicants for a full-time or half-time adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) beginning January 2027. The NP Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor position is a non-tenure track, nine-month appointment renewable annually based on performance and need. Faculty rank will be assigned based on incumbent qualifications: Clinical Instructors meet minimum qualifications; Assistant Professors hold a doctorate. The faculty member will prepare and conduct courses in conformity with outcomes of the university, Kramer School of Nursing, and approving accrediting agencies, evaluate student learning, skills, and abilities; and maintain records of such evaluations, engage in scholarship that supports Kramer School of Nursing’s mission, serve the University and the Kramer School of Nursing, including committee work as appropriate, participate in professional organizations as a member, adhere to all policies within the Oklahoma City University Faculty Handbook, KSN Employee Handbook, the OCU Student Handbook, and the KSN Student Handbook, and participate in the OCU assessment program, and in student recruiting and retention efforts for KSN and the university. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Oklahoma RN with APRN recognition required
MSN or DNP degree, Adult Gero Acute Care NP certification required
Evidence of current practice with a minimum of two years full-time equivalent practice as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting preceding the first date of first employment as a teacher.
Two (2) years of advanced practice nursing experience required.
Valid license to practice as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in Oklahoma
National certification as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner

Nice To Haves

Terminal degree preferred
Preference will be given to candidates who hold dual national certification as a nurse practitioner, including AGACNP certification
Both clinical and teaching experience are preferred, but related professional credentials will be considered.

Responsibilities
