This position is located in Hutchinson. As an on-site instructor, you will work closely with representatives of Hutchinson Correctional Facility (HCF) and the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC), following their policies and being responsive to student needs. You will conduct classes for students who need basic instruction in math, grammar, writing, and basic computer skills at HCF locations as assigned. You will collaborate with the Adult Education program coordinator in implementing curriculum and documenting student progress, which includes evaluating materials and teaching methods. You will be responsible for submitting appropriate paperwork, such as pre/posttests, referrals, GED ready scores, and student evaluations, to the program coordinator for quarterly reports and to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Additionally, you will attend staff development activities as assigned, arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position. Compliance with HutchCC policies, practices, and procedures is required. You will establish and maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, faculty, and other HutchCC stakeholders. You will assess student learning and application of course objectives and competencies. You will also design, develop, and maintain course curriculum, materials, assessments, and evaluations according to HutchCC and state standards, and in response to needs and trends. Secondary responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned by the Adult Education Coordinator or the Director of the Business and Industry Institute.
