About The Position

GPTZero is seeking its first in-house creative hire for its paid advertising efforts. This role will be responsible for the entire creative process, from concept generation to final asset delivery, with a focus on using performance data to optimize future campaigns. The designer will also contribute to overall brand design and content imagery to ensure visual consistency across all channels. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the creative function at a rapidly growing company at the intersection of AI and information integrity.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in performance marketing on the creative side, with a proven track record of creating ads that performed well.
  • Strong copywriting instincts with an understanding of user psychology for clicks.
  • Proficiency in Canva and/or Figma, with the ability to produce 100 to 150 polished static concepts per week.
  • Active and engaged user of social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, with an understanding of current trends.
  • Native-level English proficiency for writing copy targeting US audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment with a high degree of autonomy and a tolerance for ambiguity.

  • Experience at a performance marketing agency.

Responsibilities

  • Research competitors, social feeds, and emerging ad formats to generate a continuous stream of creative hypotheses specific to GPTZero's audiences: educators, students, enterprise buyers, and writers.
  • Write hypothesis-driven creative briefs for each batch, including a clear angle, messaging rationale, and target audience per ad.
  • Design 100 to 150 static ad concepts per week in Canva or Figma for Meta (Facebook and Instagram), utilizing internal templates and tools for efficiency.
  • Incorporate real product imagery into static ads, such as screenshots, UI moments, and feature highlights.
  • Synthesize performance data from live tests to identify winning patterns and apply learnings to improve future creative cycles.
  • Support brand design and blog post imagery on an ongoing basis to maintain visual language consistency across channels.
  • Own the creative strategy layer over time, building a repeatable system for ideation, production, and iteration that scales with the team.
