About The Position

The purpose of this position is to ensure the smooth operation of the Meal Site, provide a welcoming atmosphere for diners, offer direction and guidance to volunteers, ensure sanitation and food handling regulations are followed, and provide responsive, courteous, and efficient service to County residents and the general public. Job duties may include the delivery of Home Delivered Meals. This is an annual LTE (Limited Term Employee) position, not seasonal, with approximately 4.5 - 6 hours per week. The anticipated work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. One-hour team meetings occur every other month. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of related work experience required that involves food service and/or working with special population groups.
  • Must complete a Safe-Serv Food Service training program and secure certification within 90 days of hire.
  • A valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and take participant reservations and cancellations for meals.
  • Register new Senior Dining participants, introduce and orientate new participants on the registration and donation procedure.
  • Ensure proper staffing and oversee volunteers in set-up, serving, and clean-up.
  • Prepare and maintain records of participant attendance and meal information, forwarding them to the ADRC office monthly.
  • Collect, record, and deposit fees/donations received.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers for congregate and home-delivered meal programs, and maintain records of volunteer hours.
  • Maintain and order needed food and other supplies.
  • Participate in required and recommended training activities.
  • Ensure the site follows state and federal food sanitation regulations, remedy noncompliance, or report it to the Nutrition & Transportation Program Coordinator.
  • Provide program improvement recommendations to the Nutrition & Transportation Program Coordinator.
  • Assist the Nutrition & Transportation Program Coordinator in training new volunteers and Site Aides.
  • Deliver meals for the program.
  • Follow up with emergency contacts when home-delivered meal participants do not answer the door.
  • Follow up with Senior Dining participants who do not show up for their meal.
  • Ensure food is kept hot or properly refrigerated until serving time, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor, track, and submit daily food temperature logs.
  • Serve food and assist individuals needing help.
  • Actively participate in the meal program by dining with participants for meal evaluation and quality control.
  • Perform clean-up duties such as washing dishes, tables, appliances, sweeping floors, and disposing of garbage.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of state-mandated Senior Nutrition Program guidelines and ensure program compliance.
  • Perform home-delivered meal initial and reassessments when appropriate.
  • Use discretion with customers, observe rules of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, and maintain a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Participate in ADRC strategic planning and engagement activities.
