About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and communicative API Developer to design, build, and maintain integrations with ADP systems while serving as a client-facing technical resource. This role blends hands-on development with direct client interaction, requiring strong technical expertise, clear communication, and a professional on-camera presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience developing APIs and system integrations
  • Strong experience with RESTful services, JSON, and web services architecture
  • Familiarity with ADP APIs or payroll/HRIS integrations (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, API keys, etc.)
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable presenting and leading meetings on camera
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Professional client presence and presentation skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to manage multiple client implementations simultaneously
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with .NET/C# development strongly preferred
  • Experience working in the ADP’s API Central Environment
  • Understanding of payroll, HR, or workforce management systems
  • Strong documentation and process-mapping skills
  • Experience working in ADP marketplace environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with ADP platforms (e.g., Workforce Now)
  • Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Troubleshoot, test, and optimize API performance and reliability
  • Ensure secure data exchange and compliance with relevant standards
  • Lead and participate in client meetings (video/on-camera required) to discuss implementation progress, timelines, and technical requirements
  • Clearly explain API functionality, integration workflows, and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact during onboarding and implementation phases
  • Gather client requirements and provide recommendations aligned with best practices
  • Guide clients through the full API implementation lifecycle—from discovery to deployment
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product, support, project management) to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide documentation, training, and post-implementation support as needed
