About The Position

Entry level management position responsible for the supervision and coordination of quality services and staff focused on the provision of adoption services. YFA expects employees to be committed to incorporating principles of trauma-informed care in all areas of service delivery. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a human service-related field; MSW/MA in human services (preferred) with 2+ years of direct experience as a certified case manager.
  • Preferred knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed principles and practices, including the importance of creating a safe environment, fostering trust, promoting collaboration, and empowering individuals.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds; bend, stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to travel locally on a regular basis and regionally as needed.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Suites.
  • Must possess skills to assist, interpret and deliver case and court related information.
  • Must possess a positive attitude concerning all aspects of working in a challenging environment including significant patience and respect for peers and team members, as well as the children and families receiving program services.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and be insurable by the Agency’s current insurance carrier.
  • Ability to document in a clear, concise manner and teach others to do so.
  • Ability to arrive/report to work on time and ready to work.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of adoption unit under direction of Director of Adoptions.
  • Responsible for direct supervision of adoption case managers as well as coordination, accuracy, appropriateness and timeliness of workflow.
  • Support the Director of Adoptions through strategic and operations planning guidance.
  • Ensure that established adoption targets, outcome measures, service, and quality standards are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure ongoing supervisor reviews and consultations are completed within policy guidelines. All reviews will ensure child safety, well-being, and permanency of assigned children.
  • Work in collaboration with the lead agency to overcome system barriers to adoption finalization.
  • Coordinate team on-call cycle ensuring that clients have access to adoption staff as appropriate.
  • Handle low level crises, calls and situations, informing and engaging chain-of-command as necessary and appropriate.
  • Provide, as needed and assigned, direct services to program, children and families.
  • Maintain professional certification by participating in continuing education process.
  • Ensure a high level of effective communication between YFA and ChildNet staff, as well as children, families, and community stakeholders.
  • As directed by the Director of Adoptions, participate in community/regional committees, work groups, collaborative teams, and organizations as required and/or appropriate within the region.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor adoption staff to promote safety, well-being, and permanency in a safe and expeditious manner in accordance with Florida Statutes, Administrative Code, COA standards, and YFA policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislative changes, issues, trends, and developments relevant to child welfare practices for application to functional areas under charge to ensure compliance.
  • Respond and provide resolutions to inquiries and concerns from clients, the community, and other departments.
  • Complete performance appraisals for Adoption Specialists and other direct reports.
  • Identify and counsel employees that do not perform their duties or conduct themselves in accordance with YFA’s policies using the performance correction process.
  • Recognize, respect, and respond to the unique, culturally defined needs of others served.
  • Maintain familiarity with Florida Statute, Administrative Code 65C-16, and CFOP 170-12 adoption procedures.
  • Provide ongoing timely information to the lead agency and other key stakeholders.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure quality adoption casework. Provide ongoing case monitoring and participate in ongoing file reviews as needed.
  • Ensure timeliness in submission of data and reports as required and related to applicable services.
  • Maintain training and authorization to access protected health information.
