Admitting Counselor & Registration Clerk (Part-Time)
About The Position
Gundersen Health System is hiring a compassionate and confident Admitting Counselor/Registration Clerk for its La Crosse Emergency & Urgent Care location. The part-time position is 0.5 FTE, or 40 hours biweekly, and offers a starting pay of $17.93 or more per hour based on experience, with shift differentials for evening and weekend work. The schedule is 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. Week 1 includes Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; weekend hours are 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Week 2 includes Friday. The role supports patients and internal and external customers by helping with registration and financial information. Emplify Health, a partnership of Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System, is a not-for-profit, patient-centered healthcare network based in Green Bay and La Crosse, Wisconsin. It operates 11 hospitals and more than 100 clinics across Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- One year of experience in a general support or service area requiring basic occupational knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
- Gather and verify demographic information.
- Confirm insurance coverage and pre-certification details.
- Inform patients about their financial responsibilities before admission and/or discharge.
