About The Position

The University of Florida is seeking an Admissions Officer I to join the Office of Admissions. This role is responsible for the processing and management of applications for undergraduate, graduate, professional, certificate, online, and distance education programs. The Admissions Officer I will review applications and supporting documents, determine residency for tuition purposes, manage admissions data across various systems, and act as a key contact for applicants and academic departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile, organize, review, and interpret complex information while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and complete multiple work assignments and training activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, applicants, and stakeholders.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service in a high-volume, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience working with student information systems, CRM platforms, or related database applications.

  • Experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process undergraduate, graduate, professional, certificate, online, and distance education applications.
  • Evaluate applications and supporting credentials for completeness and accuracy.
  • Determine residency classifications for tuition purposes according to state regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of admission requirements, degree programs, majors, and applicant types.
  • Process departmental requests for application updates.
  • Use independent judgment to prepare applications for admission decisions.
  • Assist in cross-training admissions staff on application processing procedures.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for applicants, academic departments, and campus partners.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, Salesforce, and other communication channels.
  • Advise applicants on admission requirements and necessary application materials.
  • Support OneStop staff with escalated admissions-related inquiries.
  • Participate in call campaigns, Q&A sessions, and other student engagement initiatives.
  • Provide high-quality customer service through extensive inbound and outbound communications.
  • Manage admissions and application data within Slate and Campus Solutions.
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and resolve admissions record issues across systems.
  • Monitor and support data integration processes between Slate and the student information system.
  • Process Salesforce cases and departmental requests related to admissions records.
  • Create and maintain organization records and corresponding school data.
  • Ensure institutional information is accurate, current, and synchronized across systems.
  • Finalize admitted student applications for registration.
  • Review credentials, manage admissions holds, and evaluate requests for hold deferrals.
  • Collaborate with departments and Enrollment Management partners to support operational goals.
  • Participate in committees, cross-functional teams, and divisional initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of reference materials, training resources, and process documentation.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
