About The Position
The Admissions Liaison conducts comprehensive assessments of patients referred for inpatient acute rehabilitation services. The role coordinates the collection of patient information for timely review by the Medical Director and communicates quickly and effectively with referral sources throughout every stage of the referral process. The position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The role also develops, implements, and follows best-practice patient-attraction strategies to promote the rehabilitation program’s features and benefits to patients, families, and the community. Time spent on these secondary activities varies according to referral volume.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, as required by licensure.
- Two years of clinical experience, including direct patient care in a rehabilitation setting.
- Current licensure as a PT, RN, OT, or SLP.
- AHA BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Respond to referrals and conduct pre-admission screenings for patients being considered for the inpatient rehabilitation program.
- Make timely determinations about whether referred patients are appropriate candidates for inpatient rehabilitation.
- Coordinate gathering patient information and present it promptly to the Medical Director for review.
- Communicate quickly and effectively with referral sources throughout each stage of the referral process.
- Develop, implement, and follow best-practice patient-attraction strategies.
- Promote the rehabilitation program’s features and benefits to patients, families, and the community.
