ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR
About The Position
Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), has an immediate opening for a full-time Admissions Counselor. Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas. They offer medical detox and residential addictions treatment for military service members, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment. The Inn at Trails Corner is a new 180-bed sober community for clients attending outpatient programs, offering overnight accommodations and amenities. They accept private insurance, state-funded plans, and self-pay arrangements.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in behavioral health/substance abuse field
- Intake/admissions experience required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Answers all inquiry calls and questions related to Stonington’s programs and services
- Provides intake, admission, and program information to potential patients, their families, and referral sources
- Performs telephonic screening and appropriately interprets clinical data obtained
- Maintains census and bed availability information on an ongoing basis
- Verification of insurance coverage
