About The Position

This position assists the Undergraduate Admissions Office in its efforts to attract, recruit, and enroll students to St. Bonaventure University. The role involves creating travel schedules, traveling to high schools and college fairs, tracking application materials, corresponding with prospective students and their families, building relationships with the school counseling community, assisting with special events, and maintaining professional networking relationships. The Admissions Counselor will manage a recruiting territory, process and review applications, implement best practices in university admissions, and support various events and programs. Responsibilities may also include supervising admissions ambassadors, conducting research on recruitment trends, and preparing reports.

Nice To Haves

  • CRM experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous work experience in an admissions office (student ambassador), student service area, and/or similar environment preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Create a regional travel schedule and travel to high schools and college fairs in an assigned region.
  • Track application materials, correspond with, and interview prospective students and their families virtually and in-person.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with prospective students and the school counseling community.
  • Assist with special events and maintain various professional networking relationships.
  • Complete projects as assigned or perform general office duties.
  • Manage and support a specific recruiting territory and special admit populations/campaigns.
  • Maintain contact with alumni, prospective students and their parents, and school counselors.
  • Process, review, and make decisions on admissions applications, including GPA calculation.
  • Implement best practices of university admissions, managing contact and information towards achieving goals.
  • Support and participate in visits, special events, and programs on and off campus.
  • Potentially supervise admissions ambassadors and tele-recruiters.
  • Conduct research for recruitment trends and policies.
  • Provide data collection, statistics, prepare reports, and maintain information related to the regional territory.
  • Attend professional development workshops or conferences related to admissions.
  • Carry out any and all projects and responsibilities as assigned by the AVP/Director of Admissions.
