About The Position

The key principle of an admissions counselor is to support the mission of Lipscomb University, which is to integrate Christian faith and practice with academic excellence. This role is responsible for recruiting freshman students from assigned regions and achieving enrollment goals in academic quality and diversity, as well as building positive relationships with friends of Lipscomb. The position involves managing an assigned travel territory, including building relationships with prospective students, conducting high school visits, attending college fairs, hosting events, meeting with counselors and alumni, and making connections. Additionally, the role includes office duties such as admissions/financial aid visits, campus tours, and receiving inbound calls. Support for Campus Visits and Enrollment Records may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a positive image of Lipscomb University.
  • Recruit freshman students from assigned regions and achieve enrollment goals in academic quality and diversity.
  • Build positive relationships with friends of Lipscomb.
  • Assist and/or coordinate special events on and off campus, including weekends when necessary.
  • Meet recruitment goals as determined by the leadership team of undergraduate admission.
  • Complete office duties including admissions/financial aid visits with prospective families, campus tours when needed, and receiving inbound calls.
  • Provide support to Campus Visits and Enrollment Records when necessary.
  • Manage an assigned travel territory, including building relationships, conducting high school visits, attending college fairs, hosting events, meeting with counselors and key leaders, meeting with alumni, and making connections.
  • Handle additional responsibilities within the Office of Admission, such as data management, budget management, and scholarship programming.
