About The Position

Responsible for all aspects of admitting patients to EvergreenHealth's Surgical Center, including greeting patients upon arrival, admitting them in the information system, preparing charts, cashier duties and acting as liaison for patients, their families/escorts, physicians, nurses, vendors, all other ESC staff and the general public.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent
1 year of experience in a medical office setting
Data entry experience

Nice To Haves

2 years of Admissions/clinic experience
Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Responsibilities

Opens the facility for staff daily.
Greets patient and family members on arrival at ESC and reviews pre-registration data in the system for accuracy prior to printing face sheet, labels and arm band.
Escorts patient to pre-operative room and notifies admitting nurse of patient's arrival.
Monitors scheduled arrival times of patients, following up on patients who have not arrived at scheduled time and assists PCF in locating physicians who have not arrived at start-time of surgery.
Collects co-pays on day of surgery and over-the-counter payments on accounts, preparing clear and accurate receipts for ESC.
Accountable for following the guidelines for attendance, punctuality and overall dependability. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals and values.
Responsible for the "Accountabilities" associated with this position in support of the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
