About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Part-Time Admissions Application Reviewer supports the admissions team in the holistic evaluation of medical school applications. This position is responsible for assessing academic and personal qualifications of applicants and ensuring the admissions process reflects the mission and values of Kansas Health Science University–Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (KHSU–KansasCOM).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Prior experience in admissions, education, or academic advising is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable working with digital application systems and managing sensitive data.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of student applications to assess academic preparedness and potential for success in the osteopathic medical school program.
  • Evaluate and assess fit based on transcripts, essays, letters of recommendation, MCAT, level of medical experience, extracurricular and leadership experiences, and community engagement.
  • Maintain objective, mission-centered review practices in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with admissions staff and fellow reviewers to maintain consistency and integrity in evaluation standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all reviews and evaluation outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with institutional, legal, and accreditation guidelines.
  • Assist in compiling reports or summaries related to admissions metrics, if needed.
