About The Position

The Admissions & Outreach Manager provides full clinical oversight for all admissions and peer staff, consistent with maximizing service delivery to the clients served. Under the supervision of the program director, the Admissions & Outreach Manager will provide outpatient alcoholism and substance use disorder assessment services to complete intakes in the comprehensive integrated outpatient program. The position involves working closely with the front office support staff, the medical team as well as the clinicians and peer services. The position requires an individual who consistently works to achieve both personal and work-unit goals; effectively extends cooperative efforts beyond the confines of the department or discipline; interacts/deals effectively with others even in adverse conditions; is willing to go the extra mile to meet the needs and expectations of individuals, families, and communities; is genuine passionate, professional, transparent and responsible. The Admissions & Outreach Manager must have excellent customer service skills and able to develop internal and external resources and customer relationships.

Requirements

QHP required: LMSW, MSW eligible for licensing, unrestricted OASAS CASAC or another equivalent QHP license.
A minimum of 3 years work experience in the addiction or counseling field, one of which shall be in a supervisory role, preferred.
Bilingual - Spanish preferred
Working knowledge of electronic health record Nextgen.
Demonstrate skills in strengths-based, person-centered, self-directed care.
Must obtain Mandated reporter (2 hours) training/certificate prior to hire date.
Must obtain training/certification within thirty (30) days of hire: Domestic Violence, Infection Control BASIC (non-medical/nursing staff), HIV, Child Abuse, Tobacco Cessation, Impaired Driver Screening and Assessment
Must obtain training/certification during in-house orientation: Supporting Recovery with Medications Addictions Treatment (MAT)
Must obtain SUD training/certificate within thirty (30) days of hire (if applicable): Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment, CASAC Canon of Ethics (6 hours), Confidentiality related to 42CFR (3 Hours)

Responsibilities

Works with Program Director to review prospective clients for outpatient admission, coordinates intakes and medical appointments, as necessary.
Participates in case reviews and case conferences to assist with client compliance and progress.
Conduct substance use and mental health assessments, utilizing standardized assessment tools and best practice techniques i.e., MI, EBP etc.
Work collaboratively with treatment team to ensure comprehensive service plan and care coordination by participating in UR & QA activities.
Supervises Peer Specialists, completes employee evaluations and performance improvement plans.
For the purposes of identifying new and strengthening existing referral partners, coordinate, organize, and conduct presentations to criminal justice institutions, community agencies, hospitals, and other programs.
Performs chart audits, conducts quality assurance, and reports on performance improvement to ensure qualitative, accurate and timely documentation.
Complete phone screenings and determine client’s suitability to complete a clinical assessment.
Work with Entitlement Department to ensure financial clearance; Process client ID Card/Photo.
Complete a Comprehensive Psycho-Social Assessment for clients entering the Program.
Knowledge of Lighthouse to check for dual enrollment prior to admission.
Completes timely reporting admissions and discharges on OASAS Client Data System PAS 44’s and PAS 45’s
Working knowledge of Electronic Health Record, i.e., Nextgen and Avatar.
Explain treatment service agreement include program rules and regulations (orientation), policies and practices and obtains clients signatures.
Conduct monthly orientation groups that include all new admissions.
Monitors and reconciles Census between Lighthouse/Central Registry and OASAS CDS.
Pursue ongoing professional development relevant to the job position.
Participate in clinical supervision regularly and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Demonstrates understanding of appropriate use of treatment planning and clinical intervention.
Provides education and information to the client about alcohol and drug use disorder.
Maintains and updates referral services and resources that may be useful to our client population.
Conducts random toxicology testing for clients whenever necessary.
Other related duties as required or directed by the Supervisor.
