About The Position
Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is actively hiring a PRN Admissions and Intake Registered Nurse (RN). This role is critical in helping individuals and families access timely behavioral healthcare services while ensuring high-quality clinical assessment and admissions decisions. There also might be times that you will be helping out with the units and leading groups. Three Trails Behavioral Hospital will serve children and adolescents, adults and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare focused on individual needs and comfort. The new facility, expected to open in the second half of 2026, will be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children’s Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics. It will feature 120 licensed beds, span more than 88,000 square feet, and include an activity yard and gym. Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for the state of Missouri or Compact
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to work 12 hour shifts
Nice To Haves
- Experience in behavioral health, assessments, crisis intervention, and admissions preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments
- Evaluate patients for appropriate levels of care and admissions criteria.
- Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments
- Coordinate and collaborate for all necessary information with physicians and other staff
- Helping out with the units and leading groups may also be required.
