About The Position

Calyx Living is seeking an Administrator in Training (AIT) to prepare for a licensed Executive Director role at one of its assisted living communities in the Triangle area of North Carolina. The AIT will be mentored and developed, often serving as a second in command at different communities while completing training and licensing requirements. The development period is approximately 6 to 18 months, depending on experience. The role focuses on learning to lead community operations, deliver quality care, maintain resident satisfaction and occupancy, and enrich residents’ lives.

Requirements

• Meet the requirements for the North Carolina Administrator in Training program within six months of hire and work with the employer to acquire certification.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Basic computer skills, including comfort with Microsoft Office and CRM databases.
• Previous experience directing and supervising a team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Passion for working with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Pursue the training curriculum and licensing requirements necessary to become a licensed Executive Director in an assisted living community.
• Develop skills to manage day-to-day community operations, including service delivery, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, staffing, and sales.
• Maintain resident satisfaction and full occupancy while providing leadership to support quality care and enrich residents’ lives.
• Build relationships with residents’ families, the surrounding community, and employees.
• Ensure the community operates in accordance with Calyx policies and values and applicable governmental regulations.
• Support human resources functions, including hiring, retention, staffing, and leadership of the department head team.
• Promote awareness of the community’s services among prospective residents and their families.
