About The Position

Calyx Living is seeking an Administrator in Training (AIT) to be mentored and developed into an Executive Director for a future assisted living community. The role involves learning through a leadership position, often serving as a second in command at communities in the Triangle area. Training and development typically take 6 to 18 months, depending on experience, with the goal of becoming a licensed Executive Director for a Triangle-area community. The AIT will pursue the training curriculum and licensing requirements and develop the capabilities needed to manage day-to-day community operations, provide quality care, enrich residents’ lives, and maintain a positive community environment.

Requirements

• Meet the requirements for the North Carolina Administrator in Training program within six months of hire and work with the employer to acquire certification.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Basic computer skills, including comfort with Microsoft Office and CRM databases.
• Previous experience directing and supervising a team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Passion for working with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Pursue the training curriculum and licensing requirements necessary to become a licensed Executive Director in an assisted living community.
• Develop skills to manage day-to-day operations, including service delivery, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, staffing, and sales.
• Maintain resident satisfaction and full occupancy.
• Provide leadership to ensure quality care and enrich residents’ lives, while helping create a happy and enjoyable community.
• Build relationships with residents’ families, the broader community, and employees.
• Ensure the community operates in accordance with Calyx’s policies and values and applicable governmental regulations.
• Support human resources functions, including hiring, retention, staffing, and leadership of the department head team.
• Promote awareness of the community’s services among prospective residents and their families.
