Responsible for learning the day to day functions of the nursing center as outlined in the curriculum approved by the State Board of Nursing Home Examiners, in order to pass the State and National Exams and be licensed to operate a skilled nursing center. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Must provide college transcripts.
  • Provide 1,000-word essay on why candidate desires to be an Administrator.
  • Must be willing to relocate in the state of Georgia to meet the needs of the organization upon successful completion of the program.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format.
  • The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follows curriculum approved by the State Board of Nursing Home Examiners
  • Submits required monthly reports to the State Board of Nursing Home Examiners on the appropriate form with the signature of the Preceptor
  • Attends corporate sessions conducted by subject matter experts
  • Masters the five domains of practice: Customer Care Support and Services; Human Resources; Financial, Environmental Services; Management and Leadership.
  • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
  • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
  • Is prompt and adds value to assigned meetings.
  • Treats privileged information (both financial and personal) as confidential.
  • Is open-minded and willing to help where needed.
  • Becomes involved in each skilled nursing center department as a hands-on participant of that team, under the guidance of Department Head.
  • Learns current licensure standard and survey process.
  • Learns how to notify appropriate state and local agencies of the transfer, temporary or permanent discharge or death of any patient receiving Medicaid funds.
  • Participates in Nursing Center surveys (Licensure/JCAHO) and participates in any subsequently required reports.
  • Participates with Department Heads in the planning, conducting and scheduling of in-service training classes and orientation programs.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
  • Attends and participates in mandatory in-service trainings.
  • Develops relationship with community agencies providing services that benefit the Nursing Center.
  • Participates in community/civic matters/projects
  • Participates in recruitment, employment, and retention programs.
  • Strives to maintain a positive working relationship with associates.
  • Knows the names of the associates
  • Communicates well with patients and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to family/visitors/patients and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor, and answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.
  • Participates with Administrator in reviewing, and investigating arbitration complaints, and disputes concerning patients and families.
  • Honors patients’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.
  • Follows guidelines relative to the prevention and reporting of patient abuse.
  • Participates with Administrator in maintaining confidentiality and safe storage of current and closed patient’s records, personnel records and physical plant records with regulatory requirements.
  • Learns the responsibility for maintenance of building, grounds and equipment.
  • Follows established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
  • Follows established safety procedures when performing job tasks and/or working with equipment.
  • Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, hazardous material to supervisor.
  • Learns how to maintain appropriate documentation in regards to accidents/incidents and OSHA regulations.

  • Participate with Administrator in reviewing and evaluating all recommendations of the Nursing Center’s committees and consultants.

  • Participates with Administrator in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Center’s programs and activities.
  • Participates with Administrator in developing and maintaining written policies and guidelines that govern the operation of the Center.
  • Participates with Administrator in making routine inspections of the Center to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
  • Participates with Administrator to establish an annual budget for submission to the governing body for approval.
  • Adheres to the established accounting system and financial guidelines to meet operating cost and maintain internal budgeting control.
  • Learns how to review and interpret monthly financial statements and budgets.
  • Keeps abreast of economic conditions/situations that impact quality patient care.
