About The Position

The Island Gold Mine is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines, located in northern Ontario. This role is for an Administrator, Health and Safety who will perform a wide variety of Health and Safety activities and carry out responsibilities in functional areas including, but not limited to: document control, policies and procedures, incident investigation, training, operational risk management, contractor and supplier management, emergency preparedness and health and safety management systems. The position reports to the Health and Safety Supervisors.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate Program in Health and Safety or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Strong organization skills with ability to multitask and accomplish tasks, projects and goals efficiently
- Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Professional attitude and well-developed interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong process management skills
Responsibilities
- Provide the Health and Safety Department with administrative support through data entry, filing and scheduling.
- Data entry and maintenance of action tracker
- Incident Reporting data entry
- Training documentation management and data entry
- Maintaining efficient and systematic paper and electronic filing systems
- Maintaining document control systems
- Scheduling training and other Health and Safety activities
- Requisitioning supplies and equipment
- Tracking KPIs and entering data into reports
- Other duties as may be required
