About The Position

This role is crucial for maintaining the health of our communities, specifically supporting the WIC program. The position involves providing exceptional customer service while adhering to HIPAA standards and working with a diverse, multicultural community. Responsibilities include performing various administrative functions, cross-training in areas like triage and call center operations, and providing services to infants, toddlers, and pre-/post-natal women. The role may also involve low-risk nutritional counseling and potentially serving multiple counties within the health district, as well as responding to public health emergencies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform basic office functions and computer-related duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to bend and reach up.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health
  • Completion of an associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
  • WIC experience
  • One or more years of experience performing complex office/administrative duties in a Medical Office setting
  • Call Center experience
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to drive company vehicles
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters.
  • Consent to a motor vehicle record assessment (Points should be less than 10 and/or not negatively impact insurance rates for the agency).
