About The Position

The Administrative Support Specialist provides essential administrative support to ensure the efficient, timely completion of high-priority tasks within the Billing & Collections Department. The ideal candidate is familiar with a range of billing and collections practices and established departmental procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Previous administrative experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, coachable, and able to take initiative
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to document, analyze, and interpret work and instructions accurately

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with a range of billing and collections practices and established departmental procedures

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, collate, and process daily patient invoices, insurance claims, EOBs, PCRs, and related documentation
  • Complete and submit daily outgoing mail and manage daily fax submission of insurance claims
  • Manage and maintain assigned workflows on a daily basis
  • Research patient accounts via the Montefiore Epic system
  • Document and file applicable hospital face sheets
  • Run and submit daily productivity reports and templates at the end of each shift
  • Complete assigned projects requiring strong attention to detail and timely follow-through
  • Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management
  • Promote and foster the mission, vision, and values of Empress Ambulance Services
