Under general direction, performs a variety of responsible administrative support duties at the journey level, including greeting the public, answering questions, providing information, processing records, performing data entry, and maintaining accurate files. Work requires knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, procedures, and services, as well as a solid understanding of County operations to respond to inquiries. The employee exercises tact and independent judgment when handling sensitive or confidential matters and typically follows established procedures, referring precedent-setting situations to higher-level staff. The position requires proficiency with modern office technology, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet software. Work is performed under regular supervision and evaluated through observation, conferences, and the quality and effectiveness of completed tasks.
