About The Position

The incumbent serves as the primary administrative, operational, and analytical coordinator for the Honors and Civic Engagement programs. This role involves overseeing day-to-day office operations, coordinating workflow, managing student employees, and performing analytical work to support effective program operations. The position identifies operational issues, evaluates alternatives, recommends and implements process improvements, and develops tools and procedures to enhance accuracy, consistency, service, compliance, and continuity. Additionally, the incumbent compiles and analyzes information for end-of-year reporting, grant writing, and program planning. This position requires significant independence, discretion, judgment, and accountability in a high-volume office environment serving diverse stakeholders and handling sensitive information, competing deadlines, high-visibility events, and operational issues impacting student success.

Requirements

  • Fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices.
  • Ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
  • Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents.
  • Four years of related office work experience.

  • Experience supporting student success, retention, equity, civic engagement, academic enrichment, or high-impact student programs in higher education.
  • Experience coordinating office workflow, student employees, budgets, events, reports, communications, or process improvements across more than one program or unit.
  • Experience compiling information, data, budget details, and draft materials to support annual reports, end-of-year reports, grant proposals, or grant renewals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrative, operational, and analytical coordinator for the Honors and Civic Engagement programs.
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations and set/adjust operational priorities.
  • Coordinate workflow across both programs.
  • Assign, train, schedule, monitor, and review the work of student employees.
  • Ensure timely completion of unit-level administrative outcomes.
  • Perform analytical work to support effective program operations, including reviewing office workflow, budget and expenditure activity, student employment processes, communications systems, event logistics, records, tracking tools, and administrative procedures.
  • Identify operational issues, evaluate alternatives, recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Develop tools and procedures that improve accuracy, consistency, service, compliance, and continuity across both programs.
  • Compile, review, and analyze information for end-of-year reporting, grant writing, grant renewals, and related program planning materials.
