About The Position

The Administrative Supervisor, Registered Nurse role is within the Nursing Administration Department at Texas Health Kaufman. This position represents facility administration after business hours and on weekends, rounding throughout the facility to ensure patient and visitor needs are met. The supervisor responds to emergencies, rapid response events, and clinically complex situations, serving as a clinical leader. They facilitate appropriate bed utilization, matching patient needs with unit capabilities, and address concerns from patients, visitors, and physicians. Texas Health Kaufman is an 81-bed, full-service hospital serving the communities of Kaufman and surrounding areas since 1975, offering a wide range of services and recognized for its commitment to high-quality patient care and a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing is required
  • 5 Years Experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) is required
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire is required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days is required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days is required
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program Upon Hire is required
  • Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Proactive problem solving skills, good interpersonal, verbal, written and computer skills.
  • Excellent prioritization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing is preferred
  • 3 Years Emergency and/or critical care nursing is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Represents facility administration after business hours and on weekends
  • Rounds throughout the facility on a frequent (at least 2 times/12 hours shift) and consistent basis
  • Responds to emergency, rapid response or clinically complex events and serves as a clinical leader during the emergency situations.
  • Assures that resources are allocated to meet the patient/visitor needs and the evaluation for the code is done promptly.
  • Facilitates appropriate utilization of beds, assuring that patient needs, diagnosis, and acuity are appropriately matched to the unit scope of service, level of care and assigned nursing competency/skill
  • Responds to patient, visitor and physician concerns
